Quick Start
1. Install
Download the app from the App Store. Open it once to finish setup.
2. Start a Demo
Tap Start stream to hear spatial audio (no hardware required). Audio continues with the screen locked.
3. Pair Device (optional)
Tap Search for nearby device or use Tap to connect via NFC to pair your Field of Vision device for haptics.
FAQ
What is the Field of Vision Companion App?
It’s an accessibility-focused iOS app that pairs with the Field of Vision handheld device, providing real-time spatial audio cues that represent ball position during a live match.
Do I need the hardware to use the app?
No. You can use the demo stream to hear spatial audio without hardware. The tactile (haptic) experience requires the Field of Vision device.
Will audio continue when my phone is locked?
Yes. While streaming, the app plays live audio that continues with the screen locked. You can Pause/Resume/Stop at any time, and interruptions (e.g., calls, Siri) should recover automatically.
Does the app collect any personal data?
No. The app collects no personal data and uses no analytics or tracking. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Why does the app ask for Bluetooth or NFC permissions?
To connect to your Field of Vision device. Nearby device IDs and NFC tag data are processed locally and not uploaded.
Can I use the app with VoiceOver?
Yes. The app includes large, high-contrast controls and announces state changes (e.g., Connected, Streaming, Paused).

Troubleshooting
App plays no audio
Ensure your device is not muted and volume is up.
In iOS Settings → Bluetooth, confirm Bluetooth is on.
In the app, tap Start stream again to resume.
If you took a call or used Siri, audio should auto-resume—if not, tap Resume.
Device not found over Bluetooth
Charge and power on your Field of Vision device; keep it nearby (within a few meters).
Tap Search for nearby device and wait ~10 seconds.
Try NFC pairing by tapping Tap to connect via NFC and holding the phone over the device’s tag.
If still not found, toggle iPhone Bluetooth off/on, then try again.
Streaming stops in background
Make sure you started the stream (tone should be audible before locking the phone).
Do not force-quit the app; re-open and press Resume if needed.
Check your network signal (Wi-Fi or mobile data).
